Q: What is paver sealing and why is it important?
A: Paver sealing is the process of applying a protective sealant over your pavers to enhance their appearance and protect them from stains, fading, water damage, and weed growth. It helps maintain the rich color of the pavers and extends their lifespan, making your outdoor spaces look clean and well-maintained.

 

Q: What is joint sanding and what does it do?
A: Joint sanding involves brushing sand into the spaces (joints) between pavers to help stabilize them, reduce weed growth, and prevent shifting. After sanding, we apply the sealer to lock the sand in place and provide added strength and durability to the surface.

 

Q: How often should I have my pavers sealed?
A: Generally, pavers should be resealed every 2–3 years, depending on weather exposure, traffic, and the type of sealant used. If your pavers are looking dull, stained, or you notice weed growth in the joints, it’s likely time for a fresh sealing.

 

Q: Can you seal newly installed pavers?
A: Yes, but we recommend waiting at least 30–60 days after installation. This allows any moisture or efflorescence (a white chalky residue) to surface so it can be cleaned before sealing. This ensures a better bond and cleaner finish.

 

Q: How long does the sealing process take?
A: Most jobs can be completed in one day. After sealing, we recommend staying off the surface for 24 hours to allow proper curing. For high-traffic areas like driveways, waiting 48 hours is ideal.

 

Q: Will sealing make my pavers slippery?
A: Not with the right product. We use high-quality, non-slip sealers designed for outdoor use. If needed, we can also add a grip additive for extra traction, especially on pool decks or sloped surfaces.
